Audiomate turns your spoken knowledge into learning material. That only works if you can trust us with your recordings, so this policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, how we use it, and the control you keep over it.
01What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash — we never see or store your plain-text password).
- Content you provide: audio recordings, uploaded files, and links you submit for processing, along with the notes, flashcards, quizzes, and other outputs generated from them.
- Usage information: basic product analytics such as which features you use and how often, plus device and browser metadata used for security and troubleshooting.
- Billing information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor; we never store full card numbers.
02How we use your data
- To provide the service: transcribing, analyzing, and transforming your audio into learning material is the core of what Audiomate does.
- To maintain and improve the product: aggregate, de-identified usage patterns help us prioritize fixes and features.
- To communicate with you: transactional emails about your account, and product updates you can opt out of at any time.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your recordings or generated content to advertise to you.
03Your content stays yours
- You retain full ownership of the recordings you upload and the material Audiomate generates from them.
- Your content is not used to train machine-learning models without your explicit opt-in consent.
- You can export or permanently delete your content at any time from your account settings. Deletion removes content from production systems immediately and from backups within 30 days.
04Recording responsibly
- Audiomate is built for working with your own material. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record and upload audio — including obtaining consent from other participants where the law requires it.
- Laws on recording conversations vary by country and region. When in doubt, ask for consent before recording.
05Storage and security
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed.
- We retain your content for as long as your account is active. Free accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted after advance email notice.
06Third parties
- We use a small number of service providers (hosting, transcription, payments, email delivery) to operate Audiomate. They process data only on our instructions and are bound by data-protection agreements.
- We disclose data to authorities only when legally required to do so.
07Your rights
- Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict the processing of, or delete your personal data.
- To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@audiomate.io. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
08Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify you by email or in-product notice before the change takes effect.
